Heritage Gundog Training

We have owned, trained and worked with gundogs of almost all breeds for more years than we care to remember and have read most of the good training books and, whilst we have the utmost respect for those authors, some seem to suggest training should begin at around 6 months of age or, possibly later dependent upon breed. Until we formulated the training system we now use, we did just that. We always felt however that there had to be an easier way, by the time we started training in earnest, our dogs were already young juveniles with a positive mind of their own and bad habits had already set in, getting them to do what we wanted was always hard work and took considerably longer than the books said it would or should ! Since we began using our training system, these problems have become a thing of the past our dogs not only enjoy it immensely, because it forms a part of their play with us but more importantly our dogs are now a pleasure to take out and constantly receive admiring comments from other dog owners
